Senior Full-Stack Engineer
(Backend-focused)

powo studios is the holding company and tech hub behind a growing portfolio of B2B SaaS products — including HealthPay and AthenaText. We're self-funded, revenue-generating, and approaching our seed round. We're hiring one senior full-stack engineer (backend-leaning) to ship across our products with direct access to the founder and full ownership of what you build.

• Design, build, and ship features end-to-end across the HealthPay and AthenaText codebases.
• Own architecture decisions on the systems you build — multi-tenant data models, auth, integrations, and admin tooling.
• Build CRM, texting and calling workflows, dashboards, and internal admin software.
• Review code, mentor junior engineers, and help raise the team's bar.
• Deploy production apps yourself. No hand-holding, no layers of approval.
• Talk directly with the founder. You're the technical counterpart on every product call.

• Get fully onboarded into the HealthPay codebase and its multi-tenant architecture.
• Clear a backlog of bugs and ship a meaningful feature or module independently.
• Build out a few UI pages or API routes with light guidance while you're ramping.

The core (non-negotiable): Next.js, TypeScript, Postgres.

The rest of the stack you'll touch:

• Supabase, Prisma, Better Auth, Clerk
• Tailwind, Vercel, Railway
• Python / FastAPI (a strong plus, especially for AthenaText)
• GitHub / Git, AWS (nice to have)

Postgres expectations are real — you should be comfortable with RLS, triggers, and raw SQL, not just an ORM.

We use AI agents heavily in our dev workflow. Claude Code is the primary tool. You'll run parallel agent sessions, prompt effectively, review AI output critically, and architect tasks for agents — not just copy and paste.

You should be able to engineer without AI. We'll ask advanced technical questions in person for this role, and AI tools will not be available during that conversation.

• 5+ years shipping production software end-to-end.
• Senior-level fluency in Next.js, TypeScript, and Postgres.
• Strong written and spoken English.
• Available to work US business hours (9am–6pm in a US timezone).
• Comfortable in a fast-moving, founder-led, multi-product environment.

• Experience in SaaS, CRM, insurance/health tech, or SMS/telecom platforms.
• Built and deployed real products — open source, side projects, shipped startups.
• Self-taught or entrepreneurial track record. Side projects that ship.
• Light leadership: mentorship, code review, specs.
• Python / FastAPI experience.

• $170,000 – $220,000 annual base, paid biweekly.
• Vested equity option available.
• 4-week paid trial period before full commitment, by mutual agreement.
• Possible small paid take-home task ($100–$200 range) during screening.
